Other Ways to Give
Beyond a one-time gift, there are many meaningful ways to support the Friends of the Talkeetna Library and help sustain the programs and resources our community relies on. Whether through a matching gift from your employer, a transfer of stock or IRA assets, a contribution to our endowment fund, or a lasting legacy gift in your will, every option below offers a flexible way to make an impact, often while providing tax benefits to you as well. In Person
Just walk into the Talkeetna Library and check in at the front counter. Your librarians will be happy to help you.
Matching Gifts
You can double your impact! Many employers will match your gift to the Friends of the Talkeetna Library. Please contact your Human Resources department to ask if your company participates in a matching gift program. They will provide a matching gift form.
Gifts of Stock & IRAs
Making a gift of stocks, bonds, or other appreciated securities to the Friends of the Talkeetna Library allows you to receive a charitable tax deduction while avoiding capital gains taxes on appreciated long-term securities.

To make a gift of stock by electronic transfer, please contact us and we will provide transfer information to your broker.
Gifting IRAs
If you’re at least 70 1/2 years of age and need to take a Required Minimum Distribution from your IRA, you can instruct your adviser to make a gift directly from your IRA to the Friends of the Talkeetna Library (Tax I.D. #86-076900) and it will be removed from your taxable income.
To initiate a gift from your IRA to the Friends of the Talkeetna Library, please consult with your financial adviser and IRA provider for requirements and transfer procedures, and then notify the Friends of the Talkeetna Library of your intent.
Gifting Donor-Advised Funds
Many of our donors have worked with their families or advisors to create a donor-advised fund (DAF). It is like an investment account that is set up for the sole purpose of supporting charities. Individuals can contribute cash, stocks, or other assets to the DAF and receive an immediate tax deduction. Those funds are invested for tax-free growth, and the individual can recommend donations to charities of their choice over time.

Giving to the Friends of the Talkeetna Library Endowment Fund
You can support the long-term future of the Talkeetna Library by contributing to the Friends of the Talkeetna Library Endowment Fund at the Alaska Community Foundation.
Gifts to the endowment provide lasting support for the library and may be made by individuals, families, businesses, donor-advised funds, and through planned gifts like a bequest in your will or as a beneficiary designation of a retirement account.

You can donate directly to the Friends of the Talkeetna Library Endowment Fund through the Alaska Community Foundation’s Giving Hub.
Gifting Donor-Advised Funds for the Endowment
Many of our donors recommend grants from the donor-advised funds to support the Friends of Talkeetna Library Endowment Fund.
Direct grants from your DAFs to the Alaska Community Foundation (EIN 92-0155067).
In the description or purpose field, add “for Friends of Talkeetna Library Endowment Fund.”
Sample Bequest Language for Your Will
I give___% of the residue of my estate [or $_______] to the Friends of the Talkeetna Library, an Alaska nonprofit corporation and tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code (Federal Tax Identification #86-076900, for its exempt purposes without restriction [or to the endowment fund].
